Ellen Winhammar
Welcome to my studio! I am a painter and currently a Fine Art student at Falmouth University. I come from Maidenhead, but I now live in Cornwall close to where I study.

I spend my days painting away in my studio, next to my window overlooking the campus. I hang colourful art prints, cutouts and post-its around my workspace to inspire me, and you'll often find me covered in colourful paints and graphite.

When I'm not sketching and painting, I'm enjoying a cup of coffee, baking a cake or sewing a plushie. I love creating things, especially if I can share it with other people (though often times my baking disasters go uneaten!)

Though I work primarily in paints, I also do pen drawings, using only the finest paper. Feel free to have a browse, and I hope my art resonates with you.

"I put a little part of my soul in every piece I make"

Much of my inspiration comes from natural beauty, but not just "traditional" beauty. There's inspiration in the strange way cats perch, the laughter as we watch a seagull peck a sauce pot, the angry-faced toads that hop along at night after a bad storm.

I work to capture the essence of these moments. Each piece I make with love and an effort to have it make you feel something; uplifted, comforted, energised, or perhaps understood.

Cornwall has a rich natural environment and local culture, a perfect place to draw inspiration from. Shrieking seagulls, cream teas, sparkling beaches... so much beauty that seeps its way into my works.
